What is Raindrop
Raindrop Therapy is a powerful, non-invasive, Non-Secular application of powerful therapeutic-grade essential oils along the back, spine, and feet.
It was developed during the 1980's by a naturopathic physician, D. Gary Young, based on techniques taught to him by a Lakota medicine man named Wallace Black Elk. Raindrop incorporates certain Native American concepts and energy work, along with "Vita Flex," which is a therapeutic maneuver adapted from Oriental acupuncture, acupressure and reflexology. Vita Flex Includes the facilitator using this certain technique over the receiver's body surface at specific meridians, or reflex points, creating electrical charges that are carried through the reflexology points.
Raindrop Therapy combines aromatherapy, reflexology, massage, energy work, and moist heat to create healing and cleansing through structural and electrical alignment to the body. The purpose of the therapy is to bring total balance, harmony, and body wellness - mental, physical, and emotional.
Raindrop Therapy uses a sequence of nine essential oils that are applied to the feet and also dropped gently on the spine and then lightly massaged in using various techniques. The facilitator dispenses the oils along the client's spine like little drops of rain from a height of about six inches (hence the name "Raindrop"). The oils are gently brushed up the spine and lightly massaged over the rest of the back, combining different types of massage techniques, in a specific sequence. A hot compress is then applied, which facilitates oil absorption and muscle relaxation.
A number of medical professionals throughout the United States have adopted Raindrop Therapy in their clinical practice and have found it to be an outstanding resource for aiding in the support of the muscular and skeletal systems.
Raindrop Therapy is not a cure-all or magic bullet. Health is everything we do, say, hear, see, and eat. It is only one tool to help restore balance in the body.
In summary, Raindrop Therapy is one of the safest, non-invasive techniques available for spinal health & overall health. It is also an invaluable tool to promote healing from within using topically applied essential oils.
So What Are These
The Raindrop Therapy Technique uses a sequence of powerful essential oils to support the body. The nine oils are dispensed like drops of rain from about six inches above the back, massaged along the spine and over the rest of the back. A hot compress is then applied to facilitate absorption of the oils and relax the muscles.
The therapeutic grade
essential oils used in the Raindrop Technique Session are:
1 - Valor (a blend of Rosewood, Blue Tansy, Frankincense, and Spruce)
3 - Thyme
4 - Basil
5 - Wintergreen
6 - Marjoram
8 - Peppermint
9- Aroma Siez (a blend of Basil, Cypress, Marjoram, Lavender, and Peppermint)
Additional essential oils may be added in to help with other special circumstances. When you book your Raindrop Therapy appointment, make sure to mention how you would like to specialize the treatment to fit your needs.
How long do the effects of this application last?
As with any type of natural health modality, each person responds differently. The effects of one application may last several months for one person, but for another it may be necessary to have repeated applications once weekly (or more depending on the individuals circumstances) until the body begins to respond. Although the entire process takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete, the oils will continue working in the body for up to 5-7 days. The goal is to retrain the tissues of the body. This may take a few weeks or even a full year.
What is the cost?
A 1 hour appointment for Raindrop costs $75. Keep in mind, one treatment uses about $35-$40 in oils! I often like to make sure we allow at least an hour & 15 minutes though, as sometimes extra time may be needed for special issues. Call, email, or Facebook me to make your appointment!
I completed all of my coursework through CARE (Center for Aromatherapy Research & Education) in January of 2013, then finished my practicum hours and passed my 4 hour return demo & exam in April of 2013. Call, email, or Facebook me to make your appointment!
In 2002, a large survey was conducted, including feedback from over 3000 Raindrops received, and from facilitators having given over 11,000 sessions! Receivers reported their experiences as the following: Positive (97%), Pleasant (98%), Felt better afterwards (98%), Improved health (89%), Improved emotional state (86%). 99.9% of receivers said they would receive RD again.
Any unpleasant experiences were most likely linked to the detoxification process.
